I'm new here and NO EXPERT on Korean history or K-Drama, but I have a question about the Synopsis which says:
"Deokman was born a twin but was abandoned as a baby and sent to a place far away by her father, King Jinpyeong in order to protect her from being killed by an influenced [should be "influential"] royal court lady, Mishil who tries to snatch away the throne from the royal successor."
I thought that Mishil wanted the 2nd twin ALIVE in order to prove that twins had been born and end the reign of King Jingpyeong. It was the King who should have wanted the 2nd twin killed but he couldn't bear to do that. Instead, he kept her alive and had Sohwa and Munno sneak her out of the palace and Silla.
After she returned to Silla as Doekman and her identity became known to Chunmyung and others, Mishil ordered Doekman to he captured ALIVE in order to prove that there were twins and end the dynasty of Jingpyeong. Eulje, the King's closest friend and advisor, wanted Doekman killed to prolong the dynasty (via Chunmyung's son). It was the High Priestess and Mishil's brother Miseng who violated Mishil's orders and sent the soldiers to kill Doekman but they killed Chunmyung by mistake.
Mishil wanted the 2nd twin ALIVE.
[I don't really need an account but I wanted someone to read this comment. I watched all 62 episodes. This is the BEST serial historical drama I have ever seen. I know the history is fictionalized to make a better story / movie, but it is still excellent.]
