Synopsis

Lie Ru Ge, the heir of Lie Huo Shan Zhuang, is supposed to be married to her childhood sweetheart Zhan Feng, but her happiness turned into sorrow when he decided to marry someone else. She left home in search for a way to win him back. She then met Yin Xue, a cheeky immortal, whose constant teasing made her forget her woes. Unbeknownst to her, he had been watching over her all her life and his appearance coincided with reemergence of An He Gong, an insidious, evil organization that secretly controlled Jianghu and government. Yin Xue was determined to protect Ru Ge against the wrath of its leader, An Ye Luo, who had a personal vendetta against Lie Huo Shan Zhuang. An's secret plotting already turned Zhan Feng against the Lie family. His next step was using Yu Zi Han, Ru Ge's martial art brother who was also the 7th son of the reigning Emperor, to drive a wedge between Ru Ge and Yin Xue and to start a mayhem in the palace.

Ru Ge and Yin Xue set up shop to sell buns, but really investigate the illegal taxes that are being collected.

  • Dilireba as Lie Ru Ge, learns more about life and culinary skills. Not so much about the taxes.
  • Vic Zhou as Yin Xue, the poor scholar who is unworthy of Lie Ru Ge but they got married anyway. At least, that's the story they tell the neighbourhood.
  • Fang Xiao Yue as Aunt Huang, friendly neighbour who teaches Ru Ge how to make the sesame buns.

Dark River Palace

  • Gong Bei Bi as An Ye Jue, Married Lei Heng Tian after his wife died to align herself with his sect.

Thunderbolt Sect

As the name suggests, the sect specializes in explosives to spread chaos during an attack and mask their exit upon retreat. Also to blow stuff up.

  • Zhang He as Lei Jing Hong, free spirit in search of his past, which includes a lost sister that he considers to be Die Yi.
  • Chen Ji Ming as Lei Heng Tian, sect leader and Lei Jing Hong's father. Is very worried about his son's lack of ambition and manners, then again, he sleeps half the time he's on screen.

Pin Hua Brothel

  • Vic Zhou as Yin Xue, turns out to be the owner of the brothel and it's one of many of his business ventures in the province.
  • Wan Mei Xi as Hua Da Niang (voiced by Zhang Ai), proprietor of the establishment.
  • Long Zheng Xuan as Feng Huang, her ego depends on diminishing that of others.
  • Ge Shi Min as Bi Er, comes to apply for work at the same time as Ge Er. Serves Feng Huang.
  • Wu Pei Rou as Feng Xi Xi, does not serve government officials.
  • Dilireba as Ge Er, applies as a maid and is named Ge Er by the owner. Serves Feng Xi Xi.
  • He Suo as You Qin Hong, musician who plays the zither. Is really a disciple of Yin Xue.
