Synopsis
Lu Wuyi is the youngest nine-tailed fox of the mysterious organization Wu Xiang Yue; and her personality is lively and cunning. In her mission to search for the great demon Xiao Wei, she snuck into Wei Manor in Luo'an. There, she found out that she was not the only one looking for Xiao Wei. Joining her is Wu Shiguang, a demon disguising as a priest with a feud of revenge; Wu Wangyan, her fellow nine-tailed fox sister who is good at playing with people's hearts; and Ji Ling, a priest from Shi Lin Sect who appears innocent, but has a mysterious identity. In the process of searching for the truth, they cooperate and sound out one another.
All of them came for the power of the Dragon Deity in Xiao Wei, but their purposes were different. Some wanted to protect, while others wanted to kill. In the battles for the power of the Dragon Deity, they became friends and lovers, but they also found that there were obstacles between them that could not be eliminated. In order to eliminate the source of this obstacle, Jiu Ying, the leader of all demons, and to protect the peace of the world, the four had to make difficult choices and sacrifices in love, friendship, and even life, and tried to change the direction of their fate again and again. Under the Painted Skin is the battle between good and evil in human nature, the impermanence of fate, and the eternal questioning of true love and redemption.
