Synopsis
When she was a child, Lin Jing Yun witnessed a traumatic event which rendered her mute. Eight years later, in order to pay off her family's debts, she marries into the wealthy Zhou family. Unbeknownst to Jing Yun, her husband turns out to be Zhou Shao Pu, a crippled and sickly man. Although the kind-hearted and gentle Shao Pu loves Jing Yun, he knows he only has eight months to live and doesn't want to burden his new bride. Thus he takes every opportunity, sometimes utilizing cruel methods, to try and "free" her from a life of hardship in having to care for him and later loneliness after his death in hopes that she will have a better future. However, Jing Yun understands her husband's true intentions and is moved by the genuine love he has for her.
