Things not going well in life? Uncle is here to help! In a smart suit, Lam Muk Sam looks mature and reliable, when he's actually money-hungry and honey-tongued, and often resorts to tricks. Having worked as a car salesperson for years, he's met people from all walks of life, which honed his ability to persuade people, making him one of the top salespersons in the industry. Sam got divorced in his younger years, and his wife got custody of their daughter Lam Ma-sha. The mother and daughter then moved to the US. But good times don't last. In the poor post-pandemic economy, the car dealership decides to lay him off because of his high pay. Ending up middle-aged and unemployed, Sam, who's always loved to flaunt, hits rock bottom. But then his daughter returns from overseas and gives him the idea of 'Uncle for Rent'! Sam is reluctant at first but later wants to make a fortune and turn his life around with this business. Synopsis
In the end, he finds that Uncle for Rent helps him tidy up his messy life and return to his true self. Sam even gets a few old friends to join him as uncles for rent, including the handsome genius Luk O, house husband Ping Jee, cafe owner Ben and big-bellied taxi driver Tin. Over time, the uncles find their values and rediscover their passion for life through their work. While Lam Muk Sam solves his clients' problems, he also solves his own. All this is part of a learning process. --MakerVille
