Synopsis

A sculptor who is determined to protect a jade ornament that can overturn the fortune of the country puts up a fight against sinister forces.

Li Tian Shun is a jade sculptor from Beijing Old Street. He stands up against resident gangs to protect a national treasure. Despite his grassroots upbringing, he never retreats or bows down in the face of oppression, even as he almost loses his family. The neighborhood is filled with ordinary people, from Chinese opera singer Yang Shang De, Li Lian Zhang, camel herder Ding Guang Yuan, meat seller Ma De Shan, antique dealer Jin Zhao Ji, the temple's Man Wen Kui and a woman named Huan He Xiang, they display extraordinary courage amidst countless trials. When Ding Liu Lan returns home to Old Street as a Communist revolutionary, she brings with her a ray of hope for the future.
