When 25-year-old Mikoto touches hands with another person, he sees a vision of that person dying. Although he has been this way all his life, it is only upon becoming a paramedic that he realizes his visions are real, as all the patients he has touched hands with have died exactly as his visions have shown him. This brings up a lingering question in his mind: is there such a thing as fate? Mikoto wants to believe he has the power to save lives if he knows how someone dies, but death after death shows him that fate is rigid and unchangeable. As someone whose father passed away and whose photographer stepmother is always abroad for her work, Mikoto's only immediate close connections are his stepbrothers, Ren and Ai, and his stepsister, Sara. Mikoto finds himself increasingly becoming attached to Sara, but when he touches his hand with hers, the vision he sees horrifies him. Although experience has shown him that any effort to save a life would be in vain, Mikoto refuses to let his beloved stepsister be yet another victim to fate, and he will do whatever it takes to prevent the inevitable.

Synopsis
