Barbie's character grew up in Shanghai. She is known as "princess" to her parents who have spoiled her very much. She understands 8 different languages and plays the piano well. But her talents mean nothing when faced with the challenge known as "love".

To make matters worse, Xin Lei's fiance breaks the engagement, due to his parents' wishes.  The only two people she has now are Qin Lang and her best friend Xi Xian.  Qin Lang then tells her that he is leaving for Taiwan, so they bade farewell.

Synopsis
