Synopsis
Shen Xiao, from a poor family, studies diligently to enter the imperial court and investigate his father's death. However, he unexpectedly has a one-night stand with Princess Zhaoyang, Li Shu, only to be abandoned by her. Soon after, he achieves the highest rank in the imperial examination. At the newly appointed banquet, Shen Xiao meets the emperor, and his first memorial is an impeachment of the "arrogant and licentious" princess...
The two go from mutual antagonism to mutual respect, developing feelings for each other. From adversaries to allies, Shen Xiao helps the princess break free from her shackles.
