- Mao Zi Jun's role as Fa Hai required him to be bald and he had to go through 3 hours of makeup each day to achieve the intended effect.
- While the story of White Snake has been popularized many times on television including a famous 1990's TV series, this is not a straight up remake due to the characters and names being slightly different.
- Angie Chiu who played the titular white snake in the 1990's guest stars as the Holy Mother of Mount Li who is also the heroine's teacher.
