Koo Ping On (Myolie Wu) and a brother-like friend Tin Hau Yi (Ron Ng) brought her sick mother to Nanjing searhcing for Koo Maan Chuen (Lau Dan), the father of Ping On and owner of the biggest rice company in Nanjing. After Ping On's mother dies and the ups and downs along the way, the two eventutally get to live with him, but are segregated.
