Synopsis

For the Grand Canal's application to be part of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Lu Chang He fights against businesses to protect the ecological environment from pollution. With the help of party members and the people around Lu Chang He, they work together to relocate residents and businesses within the historic district of the canal. By preventing the demolition of the thousand-year-old buildings in Wuzhen, Lu Chang He successfully helped the Grand Canal become listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004.
