About Goto Maki
Goto Maki was selected to be in Morning Musume as the only member of it's 3rd generation when she was only just 13. She became an instant favorite among fans, and an idol to many young girls. Gocchin helped Morning Musume reach platinum status by having 2 singles sell more than 1 million copies. Those singles are Morning Musume's "LOVE Machine" and "Koi no Dance Site". She soon established herself as a talented singer and dancer and took the lead on a large number of Morning Musume tracks. In the fall of 2002 she graduated from Morning Musume to pursue a solo career and has since released three albums, as well as a number of singles. Though her success varies with each new single she releases, there is no doubt that Maki is one of H!P's more popular acts, like Natsumi Abe, Aya Matsuura and Morning Musume.
In October 2007 Goto announced she would graduate from Hello! Project and leave Up-Front Agency completely. On June 19, 2008 it was revelead she signed with Rhythm Zone under Avex.
In January 2009 Goto Maki became part of the SWEET BLACK Project, a cross-media collaboration between Avex, Mixi, and J-WAVE. Maki herself chose the name and the logo.
In March 2012 Goto Maki joined Dream Morning Musume, a Japanese female pop group consisting of former Morning Musume members.
