Synopsis

After suffering abuse from her husband, Nao runs away from home with her 5-year old son, Ryota. They finally decide to settle down in a quiet seaside town, and Nao starts looking for a place to rent and also for a job. It wasn't as easy as she'd thought, but luckily for her, help came in the form of Saito Kumi, a fellow single mother that works at a real estate firm. Kumi helped her to find lodgings and soon Nao starts to work part-time as the cashier at a sushi restaurant. One day, a male customer stretches his hand out to pat her shoulder, but that causes Nao to have a panic attack as she is besieged by flashbacks of her husband's violent attacks. She quits her job after that, but is rescued from her sad plight by the "leader" of the single mothers in the town, Takasaka Toko. --by NHK
