About Masako
One of the very first modern Japanese idols. Along with Yamaguchi Momoe and Sakurada Junko, the three girls were dubbed the "Schoolgirl Trio", and dominated the JPOP music scene throughout the 1970's. In 1986, Masako married enka singer Mori Shinichi. And just like Momoe, Masako retired from music soon after the marriage to spend her time as a full-time housewife. In 2005, Masako divorces Shinichi - probably the most covered divorce of that year. On June 7, 2006, Masako made her re-debut on NHK Kayo Concert - her first public performance in 20 years. Soon after, she released her first CD in 20 years. --Groink
