Synopsis
The television series of the 2005 film which revolves around the adventure of Yi Xiaochuan (Hu Ge), the son of an archaeologist. During an excavation, his older brother, Yi Dachuan (Ren Quan), discovers a 2000 year old box at the site. Coincidentally, Xiaochuan also finds a tiger pendant which he later uses to open the box. But unexpectedly, he and his girlfriend's older brother, Gao Yao (Chang Shih), gets transported back in time to the Qin Dynasty. There, the two would run into historical figures such as Xiang Yu (Tan Kai) and Liu Bang (Li Yi Xiang). But because Xiaochuan and Gao Yao got separated, they each encounter different opportunities and outcomes, and Xiaochuan later realizes that he and Gao Yao had became a part of Chinese history; Xiaochuan becomes the historical General Meng Yi, and Gao Yao is forced to be castrated and becomes an eunuch, later renamed to Zhao Gao.
After some time, Xiaochuan then meets Princess Yushu (Bai Bing) of Tu'an. They soon fall in love, but Yushu was destined to become the Qin Emperor's new concubine, so the two are forced to plot secret meetings. Due to Xiaochuan's worry that Gao Yao would find out and try to sabotage him, the couple would pass their messages through Xiaochuan's mobile phone. Back in 2010, Dachuan, his parents and Xiaochuan's girlfriend, Gao Lan (Zhang Meng), tries to open the treasure box without any knowledge about the two's disappearance. Along the way, they would receive clues, but would also get attacked by the henchmen of a mysterious masked man, while Xiaochuan would also start to experience the wrath of Gao Yao.
