Synopsis
Geng Zi Feng Yun takes place during 1900 BC, when the Eight-Power Allied Forces took over Beijing. Together with the Emperor, the Emperor Dowager decides to flee for safety. Now in Xi An, she meets a lady, Shi Qin (also known as the "White Peony"), who bears the uncanny resemblance like the Emperor's favourite concubine. This new lady is actually caught in the middle of a love triangle; engaged to Chen Ran (Joe Cheng), while hopelessly in an affair with Han Yu Xuan, the most powerful officer in Xi An. Han Yu Xuan is also in love with Shi Qin (Jang Seo Hee), so with the help of Chen Ran's wealthy father (who is also against the engagement between Chen Ran and Shi Qin), they plot a scheme the couple. This ends up tearing Chen Ran and Shi Qin apart; by sending Chen Ren to study abroad.
However, unknown to Chen Ran, when he left to study abroad, Shi Qin was actually pregrant with their son. Still in Xi Qin, Shi Qin successfully gives birth to a healthy son. Things turns for the worse when her son is kidnapped, but optimistically, she believes that her son is still alive and is actually with Chen Ren. Even more complicated situations ensues when Han Yu Xuan decides to bethroth his only daughter, Han Su Yun (Yuki Hsu), to Chen Ran's younger brother, Chen Jun (Hui Cheng), but instead of falling in love with her future husband, Han Su Yun sets her eyes on Chen Ran, his older brother instead.
To complicate things even further, in a coincedental meeting with the White Peony, the young Emperor falls in love with her, recognizing the resemblance in her with his favourite concubine, who was "thrown away" by his mother earlier.
