Synopsis
Ye Tingyan returned from the depths of hell with a singular purpose: to exact revenge upon the Emperor and Empress who occupied the supreme seats of power. Once the noble and upright Crown Prince Song Ling, he had been framed in the "Ci Tang" conspiracy by his younger brother, Song Lan, and betrayed by his fiancée, Su Luowei. After enduring unspeakable torture, he was forced to watch the pair ascend the throne together.
Song Ling subsequently underwent a gruesome transformation — altering his very skin and bones—to assume the identity of the powerful court official Ye Tingyan, returning fueled by burning hatred. Upon reuniting with Empress Su Luowei, he treated her merely as a pawn in his game of vengeance, engaging in a dangerous dance of suspicion and power struggles amidst the political maelstrom.
Ultimately, Ye Tingyan uncovered the truth; the two resolved their long-standing misunderstandings and forged an alliance to overthrow the tyrant, clear the name of the wrongly accused in the "Ci Tang" case, and realize their youthful dreams of a peaceful, prosperous realm.
