Synopsis
In 1929, a bizarre and chilling double murder shook the streets of Shanghai. Following that, a series of dancers were brutally murdered. Forensic doctor Xia Mo and sharp-witted detective Tang Zhenyun unexpectedly uncover a far more sinister and dark web behind the murders - a corrupt exchange of power and desire. The murdered girls were all intended as offerings to powerful figures lurking in the shadows.
At the center of it all lies the most luxurious dance hall in Shanghai: Vermilion Bird Hall. Gao Ying, the shrewd proprietress of Zhuque Hall, joins forces with Xia Mo and Tang Zhenyun after initially opposing them, forming a fragile alliance. As they dig deeper into the case, they realize that the true danger isn't just the serial killer, but someone even more terrifying - someone hiding in plain sight….
