Synopsis

The drama is about 2 families who go from the picture perfect life to a stage life. Shin Gu runs a photo studio and his kimchee-like common class family is about to become inlaws with Seon Woo Eun-Sook's cheese-like rich class family that runs a sports center, and Kim Eul-Dong plays Shin Gu's wife. Lee Hye-Yeong plays Kim and Shin's unmarried 39 year old daughter. With the clash in class and family values, the drama is the comic events that follow when kimchee and cheese are hashed together

Cast

Characters

A photographer who runs the Smile Photo Studio. He is often bulled by his wife Euldong, Eversince he agreed to marry his son Byungjin to Suyoung. He is also the only parent who approved of letting his son Byungjin and Suyoung to get married. He is sometimes called the "Cappucino Grandpa", since he likes going to Coffee Shop's with his female friends.

A housewife. She is very fierce and can sometimes bully Shin Goo, his husband. But from time to time she shows a kind side too. She often has conflicts with Eun Sook, Suyoung's mother and they often get on each other's nerves. She is very known for her "Iron Hand" since she once broke a burglar's neck on their home mistaking the burglar to be Byungjin.

Shin Goo & Eul Dong's oldest daughter. A 39 year old oldmaid. She also works as a photographer and occasionally helps her father with the Smile Photo Studio and gets a "real" job from time to time. Back in 1997 she and Kijoon promised to get together if neither of them is still unmarried or is without a lover, and in 2007 they start dating. She is sometimes very clumsy and very much like her father, Shin Goo.

The second child of Shin Goo & Euldong, and also the only son. He is married with Suyoung and they got wed after much disapproval of their families. He works as a swimming coach to a swimming team in a university. Oftentimes he is very fickle and very indecisive, he is also a neat-freak although sometimes he can be very slow.

The youngest child of the family. She is 22 years old and is a College Student. Eversince, she has this crush on Kijoon, Byungjin's bestfriend. She then competes with her older sister Hyeyoung for Kijoon's attention. She then often clashes with Kijoon's younger brother Hyunjin but they become close as time goes by.

Mother of Suyoung. She owns a fitness center and they are a well-off family. She is often heard with her tagline "이런 젠장". She often clashes with Byungjin's mother Eul Dong, but often times her archrival is Kijoon.

Eun Sook's only daughter. She works as a Piano Teacher. Her mother did not want her to get married off with Byungjin, since their families are very far from each other. Eversince, she calls Byungjin "Oppa" but even after marriage, she still calls her husband "Oppa".

Byungjin and Suyoung's seven year old daughter. She is a taekwondo whiz. She has a crush on Hyunjin and loves to hang out at the Shin Residence so she play with Hyunjin.

He is the bestfriend of Byungjin and He works as an Announcer. Back in 1997, he rents a room in the Shin Residence and Euldong drives him off since he cannot pay the rent or unless he leaves if he wont get accepted in a University. He was then enlisted in the military but 10 years later he's already an announcer and rented a room on the Shin Residence again. He did not break his promise with Hyeyoung and starts to date her.

Kijoon's younger brother. He is a college student and he is the ace swimmer of their swimming team. He was annoyed with Yeonji for not calling her "Oppa" since he is older a year with her. He and Yeonji often quarrels but then they start becoming friends too.

Hyunjin's friend. He also belongs to the swimming team of their school. He can dance very good although his looks are not too handsome. Shin Goo would often get annoyed by him since Kwon used to look like Shin Goo's former rival in love with Eul Dong.

He also belong to the swimming team and he is the second top swimmer of their team. He often competes with Hyunjin but Hyunjin is the best. He is known for his gluttonies and for loving food.

The youngest of the swimming team. He is also close with Hyunjin, Kwon and Jiwoo. He develops a crush with Yeonji.

He is known as the Mystery Man. He comes out on the sitcom as early as episode 5, But he officially joins the family on episode 20. He was accidentally ran over by Hyeyoung when she was driving home. He was in a coma for days and when he woke up he did not remember who he was or where he is from. His real identity is still a mystery. He was then called "Shin Goo Junior" but his petty mistakes annoyed Shin Goo so he then was called Sanho.
