Synopsis
Lee Hoo works as a delivery boy in a Chinese restaurant, not knowing that he is a prince possessing royal blood. One day, he is invited to the palace and learns of his identity. He immediately begins his training to ascend to the throne.
Hwang Inroe stated that "Goong 2" will have the same theme of a fictional constitutional monarchy in Korea, showing how tradition and the present can co-exist together. The plot will also be tied to the first series. The ending of "Goong" revealed that neither Lee Shin nor Lee Yul inherited the throne, leading to the temporarily ascension of Shin's sister, Hae Myung. The sequel will thus continue with this plot as the palace discovers the existence of a royal grandson living among commoners. The royal prince has no knowledge of his identity and works as a delivery boy. He remains clueless of his royal blood until he is invited to the palace. He is accepted as a member of the imperial family and is trained for preparation to become Emperor.
