It seems as if their positions have been switched.
Before Utada Hikaru and Kiriya Kazuaki got married, not many people knew who he was. However, his movie, CASSHERN made after his marriage was a hit and achieved ticket sales of 1 billion. The US version's rights have been bought by Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks and Kiriya is currently in US working on the film.
However, Utada who was one of the biggest divas in Japan flopped in her US debut last autumn and will shift her career focus back to Japan with a new single, "Be My Last" in Sep which is the theme song of movie, Haru no Yuki.
As such, they are currently living separately in US and Japan thus fuelling speculation that divorce is on the cards.
