Zenibana 2

Hey Groink, I'm planning on making a page for Zenibana 2 DX Goukaban... Well not really planning, I already have everything ready I just need to paste it. Anyway, I'm not sure whether I should make a complete new page or add a new section on the existing Zenibana page. Episode Titles Written in Japanese

ive noticed that people keep on putting the drama episode titles in japanese. since this is an English-language based wiki, i hope that they should have at least put the titles in romaji instead. can we make this a policy that editors should always include the romaji translation or better, the english translation. --Marienella 02:47, 3 May 2007

I do see your point. Here's how I look at it regarding sub-titles:

1. Start off with the kana. If the editor can't convert, then leave it as-is.
2. If can, replace the kana with romaji.
3. If can translate to English, replace the kana/romaji with English sub-title.

I've been doing this with the taiga and asadora dramas. Let me know you (and others) think. Groink 17:27, 2 May 2007 (CDT)

in my opinion, if they cant translate, then just dont put the episode titles. for every new japanese dramas, there is a corresponding link to its japanese wiki entry, so the japanese episode titles are already available in that wiki. untranslated entries just mess up an article and it does not benefit the mostly English-speaking users of the Drama Wiki. --Marienella 23:55, 3 May 2007

I like to have the Japanese episode title there. They often get translated after a while. And we also have the drama title in Japanese so why not leave both? Isn't it harder to translate if the kana get replaced by romaji when you can't go directly to English? --Ina 00:44, 4 May 2007 (CDT)

What I do not like is having all three - kana, romaji AND English. Because of the limitations of wiki, there's just simply no way to make the three presentable without making a mess of things. So for me, I'd prefer to have either kana alone, kana and English, or English. In my edits, I choose to have the kana only at first. And then when I see the English translation (from either NGN or NHK/MTI), then I replace the kana with the English. Just as a side note for everyone, this doesn't concern the series title; we still prefer to keep all Japanese show titles romaji/kana. Groink 00:51, 4 May 2007 (CDT)

No, they dont get translated unless the drama is popular or is maintained by an editor like Groink, the people who put them in there are not even consistently putting all the titles, just check the entries for the past seasons. my point is, this is an English based wiki, unless people will be consistent in providing the English translation for the japanese titles, then just dont put the untranslated titles. pls remember that most people who read the Drama Wiki are not proficient in Japanese, so putting up japanese words just mess up an article. im also advocating this for consistency in article guidelines. I'm fine with that. In summary, no subtitles in kana unless there's an editor who's taking great care in maintaining the subtitle list for the given Japanese drama article. I saw your message, and I feel you spoke too soon.... I would've appreciated it if you had waited a day until I was done with the page to tell me I was abusing the guidelines and that I would be banned next time without a thought to the severity of my crimes (lol).

It's the first page I made, which I'm sure you noticed, and I don't know what the drama wiki logs show, but I've been constantly editing it for the past hour or two to get it as perfect as I could... and I wasn't done with it.

I understand and appreciate the people, like you, who help keep this site nice looking, but I was just surprised at your impulsiveness towards my unfinished page, (which I am still editing at this moment).

The links you gave me were helpful, and thank you for pointing them out, but I see no reason for you to tell me I won't get another chance before being banned since I was still editing as I got your message. But, like I said, I don't know what the wiki logs, (if it even does), and maybe you thought this page was created hours ago. :D

LOL, you're probably wondering why I'm writing this to you at all, and maybe it sounds disrespectful, but I just didn't want to feel upset towards you, who are just doing your job, and this was the only way I could keep from feeling resentful towards you in the future.

Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of the wiki, and see you around! :D I'll try to get the hang of things quickly so I don't bother you anymore! LOL

I've been looking around, and I'm not exactly sure what the "summary" space in the editing section is. I wrote things in it without really thinking about it too much before, but now it's starting to get to me and I wonder if I've been using it right....
