Synopsis
Tsukushi Makino (played by Inoue Mao) is a lower middle-class girl who is trying to go unnoticed in an elite high school full of playboys and snobby rich girls. One day, she meets Sanjou Sakurako (Sato Megumi), a new student at Eitoku High School, and they become quick friends. Sakurako isn't familiar with the 'rules' of Eitoku. Makino explains that the school is practically ruled by a group of four boys, who are also known as Flower 4. F4 is consisted of Doumyouji Tsukasa, Hanazawa Rui, Nishikado Soujiroh, and Mimasaka Akira. At first, things go along fine. Until Doumyouji, the leader of F4, decides to come along and pick on them. In defense of her friend Sakurako, Makino goes against the famous Tsukasa. The next day, Makino receives the dreaded red card.
However, Makino still goes to school and she still holds her head up high. She isn't afraid of Tsukasa, in fact. This only makes him even more interested in her. Makino's courage and strong spirit catches the attention of Hanazawa Rui. After a series of events, Tsukasa takes back the red notice and even asks Makino out on a date! Soon, the two find they are falling for each other. However, Hanazawa Rui is also developing feelings for Tsukushi! Who will Makino choose? With Doumyouji's mother interfering with their relationship and Rui constantly trying to win her affection, Makino isn't sure which is the right choice...
The series is based on the Japanese shoujo manga "Hana Yori Dango" (Boys Before Flowers) by Kamio Yoko.

Synopsis
This second season of Hana Yori Dango picks up right after Domyoji leaves for New York. After confessing to Domyoji, Makino has not spoken to him for a year. Rui and the other members of F4 try and help Makino meet Domyoji again by going to New York for the christmas holidays. Though F4 and Makino meet Domyoji again, he has become a completely different person, and so they leave for Japan.
Some time later, Domyoji's mother annouces that they will be returning to Japan. There, they hold a giant super-rich and classy birthday party for Domyoji and annouce something very important. Domyoji, like in the first season, is engaged to a rich girl and heir. The only difference is that they are to be wed soon. What will Makino do?
On the side, Rui begins to fall in love with Makino... will this become a love... square?
