Unconfirmed upccming kdramas

It took me a while to find that info for those dramas. And it kind of rubs me wrong that you took them off. All the sources I checked said that bi had accepted the part for indian summer (the drama) but that no other details were known. Hi. It seems that I offended you, so I sincerely apologize if you feel that way. It was not my intention to offend you in any way. But the reason I removed Bi from Indian Summer is because there's no source that I found online that says that Bi is signed on for the drama. All I see is that he is being "courted" for the drama role, which is a bit different than being confirmed to play in the drama. I hope that makes sense. But if you have a source(s) that states that he has signed on for the role, then would you mind sharing the link with me?

As for the other bit that I removed, I am actually unsure whether they've officially signed on. But if the source states that they are thinking about signing on for the drama, then it's best to not put anything.

The reason we don't want unconfirmed information is because we don't want to give misleading information to everyone who looks at the upcoming drama.

Apologies for not responding quickly! I apparently forgot to respond. I unfortunately have a limited knowledge of the Korean language, so I cannot confirm whether the article you provided is actually legitimate or not. But judging from the date posted, it seems like they're only considering the drama. And there hasn't been any newer recent articles about the drama and the Ajax members. But I could be dead wrong. I tried using Google Translate (which I know is NEVER usually accurate), but the translation proved to be too confusing for me. Looking at the Daum Movie website (as you can see here), it doesn't seem like the Ajax members are confirmed nor are there any confirmed casted actors. Most of the time, Daum Movie lists confirmed actors. This website is helpful for finding out whether an actor is confirmed or not. --Msmall92 (talk) 00:39, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Replacing images

Hi, you advised Helena89 to overwrite images with new ones by using the old filename. This practise was agreed upon for artist photos.. in order to safe the extra page edits to use the new images. Generally, images should only be replaced with a good reason and images should not be overwritten with different looking images using the same filename. When overwriting an image a reason or a short description of the change should be given in the upload comment. See File:XuYuHan.jpg for example.

For drama banners, posters, screenshots, DVD/CD covers, etc. it is better to use a new name for a completely different image. This especially applies to images that have description text and for larger files. Also, if the new picture requires a page edit it makes no sense to "recyle" the old filename. For example, if you had to change [[File:HelloMyTeacher.jpg|680px|center]] to [[File:HelloMyTeacher.jpg|thumb|240px|Hello My Teacher]] on Hello My Teacher then you could have changed the filename as well.

Images that become unused should be marked for deletion with {{deleteimage}} so they can be safely deleted by the maintenance team to free server resources. When you overwrite images with different looking ones it will be harder to find or track the obsolete image revisions because they are still kept "in use" and are not listed under Special:UnusedFiles. To improve image maintenance, I will create a {{cleanupimage}} template to mark images for cleanup.

Also keep in mind that admins are not necessarily drama experts. Sometimes when no upload comment was given it can be hard to understand why an image was replaced and to decide which revision should be kept or deleted. --MoerkJ ^talk 21:43, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

It's Okay, That's Love

If you realize there's 3 different pages for the following drama. It's Okay, That's Love (which I created), It's Alright, It's Love and It's Okay, It's Love. The reason why I kept changing it is because most K-Pop celebrity gossip and news sites including Viki (which is a license site) are using It's Okay, That's Love as the tittle for this drama instead of the other two which is not mostly seen mentioned in the K-Pop news and I think it is more appropriate to other fans aswell as it is easier to find it when they type it on the search panel. I did not purposely create a page to change it as I've checked it before by going into the main actor and actress's page to see if anyone had created it before I did but there's isn't. I only noticed after I created the page as someone changed my page, copied my contents and pasted it onto the page (It's Alright, It's Love) they created. As for the page It's Okay, It's Love, I don't know how but it just popped out recently and someone changed it. If that person is you, may I also know the reason why you keep changing it? And if you think I offended you then I apologies but I still think the tittle It's Okay, That's Love is more appropriate. --Alyviagan (talk)

No, I did NOT ignore MoerkJ's warning. He/She told me not to copy-move page but use the move feature instead and that is what I did. I used the copy-move page in the past is because I wasn't a pro using Dramawiki but I learned from my mistakes and changed which means I am not going against MoerkJ's warning. Seems like you used someone in a higher position as an excuse because you didn't want to reply my message. You asked me why, I answered. But why didn't you answer my question to you? When I first created the page, Jung Il Woo wasn't confirmed for the role. Secondly, if editors want to find out if a page for an upcoming drama has been created, they should take a look at Upcoming KDrama and try to find it. If no such page for the drama they're looking for has been created, they can add in the drama to that page and create the page if they want. Editors shouldn't only look at the actor's page to see if a page of the drama has been created.

I only found out about the page you created after looking at the drama page for Triangle (MBC). I didn't knew it existed until then. Besides, since you have already listed Jung Il Woo as one of the casts I assume you already knew it. And as I said previously, I'm new to Dramawiki and make mistakes but now that you mention it, I'll check out the Upcoming Drama page first next time before creating a new page. I redirected Night Watchman's Journal to a wrong page but couldn't revert it back so I just re-added all the info first. I then later tried to redirect Night Watchman's Journal to The Night Watchman but it was blocked. Creating genre categories

Can you please discuss things first that affect the nearly the whole wiki, like introducing new categories for drama pages. It may be better to find some consensus before starting to change many many pages.

• First we need to decide which genre categories we will use. (Many genres listed here are not genres but rather keywords. See IMDb genre list as example.)
• Should we use catories or will lists do the same thing for finding dramas by genre?
• Also the categorization can be done using templates, see {{jidaigeki}} as an example. This way we can define the name of the categories in a central place, inside the templates.
• The final consensus should be listed in the style guide somewhere.
• The whole implementation can be done starting a project (for better organization).

Btw, genre selection in general and genre searching as well as categorization by genre was discussed before in the forum but not much response so far. --MoerkJ ^talk 19:35, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Apologies. I was not aware that creating new categories was frowned upon and it was wrong of me to assume that I could create new categories without others' input. I'll keep your advice in mind.

You are welcome to create new categories. As long as you follow established concepts nobody will object. For example it would be logical to create a category for a new tv channel or tv station and add it to the existing category of tv networks. But if you introduce new concepts then it would be helpful to propose or introduce and explain them somewhere. So, other editors understand what you are doing and can help you. The base categories are mentioned in the tv show and artist page formatting guides. You can find a list of all categories at Special:Categories. The problem with categories is that you cannot easily change their name at a later date like you can do with article pages or files. Renaming a category requires to edit every page inside that category. This is a lot of work especially for large categories which can be saved by better planning. The old category names are bad examples. They are rather short and cryptic. New category names should be more descriptive. Some categories you created were rather ambiguous words or not even genres (e.g. Legal, Family, Human, Youth, etc.), others were redundant (e.g. Historical and Period). Just taking the words listed in the •Genre: fields for category names wasn't a good idea, IMHO. See also wikipedia:Film genre or wikipedia:List of genres for some ideas.

If really nobody wants to discuss or support a certain concept or idea (no matter if here or in the forum) then perhaps it isn't worth being pursued. But you should give it at least a try. We haven't been using this wiki much for general discussions in the past because all old editors came either from the d-addicts forum or partner forums. We mostly used the forum for conversation and didn't needed another discussion platform like Wikipedia's village pump for example.
