About
Lee Min Ho was born in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-Gu, Seoul, South Korea on June 22, 1987. He wanted to be when he grew up a soccer player and was involved in many games with friends and dedicated himself fully to the sport in elementary school. He stopped pursuing that dream because of a fifth-grade primary school injury that prevented him from making that dream a reality. At that time he started to be interested in pursuing another dream of his, one that would take him into becoming an actor, in his last year as a student in high school he signed with Starhaus Entertainment all thanks in part through the help of a friend. He was trained and formed by the agency for a period of two years and began auditioning there where he began to get a series of small roles in television series. He started to gain some sort of traction for himself over the entertainment industry.
It was 2006 and Lee Min Ho had a terrible car accident that could have cost him his life and made him hospitalized for six months. During the long period that delayed his recovery, he was very worried about whether he would be able to act again or even walk again. He considered that time in his life one of his very worst an all-time low. Lee Min Ho didn't give up or start to lose hope. His first performance after his recovery after the accident came from the drama Mackerel Run in 2007, the drama did not pass the eight-episode mark due to its low ratings. He finally got a break-through in 2009 when he got the lead role in the hit drama Boys Over Flowers. Thanks to the popularity of the drama Lee Min Ho became a star and a sensation not only in Asia but also the whole world. He gained a lot of traction nationwide and worldwide by signing several endorsement deals.
Lee Min Ho repeated his success again when he accepted the lead role in the 2010 hit romantic comedy-drama Personal Preference, a year later, in 2011, willing to stand out even more as an actor Lee Min Ho appeared as the lead character in the dramatic action series City Hunter with Park Min Young, based on Tsukasa Hojo's manga City Hunter (シティーハンター). The popularity of both drama series helped increase its popularity in Asia, America, and Europe. A couple of years later, in 2012, in his Facebook page he told his fans about his decision to take the lead role in the historical-medical drama Faith, he and his co-star Kim Hee Soon received huge accolades for their performances, but the drama although it reached 10% of viewership ratings it was still a commercial flop due to its high budget and productions costs.
He went a year later to a fan meeting tour all across Asia, and he released his first album by the name "My Everything". An album he considers as a personal gift to his fans nationwide and also worldwide. In 2013, He took the lead role in the Kim Eun Sook drama series The Heirs, Lee Min Ho's appearance in the drama generated a lot of attention and viewers liked the chemistry he had with his co-star Park Shin Hye. There was a further increase in popularity for Lee Min Ho due to the drama, especially in China, and it was noted when he became the first Korean to present the China Central Television (CCTV) New Year's Gala that was followed on that occasion by 704 million in television and 110 million online, a total of 814 million viewers worldwide, which is about seven times the number of viewers of Super Bowl XLVIII. There he sang a song with Harlem Yu, the original singer of the main theme of Meteor Garden, which was the Taiwanese version of Boys Over Flowers.
He released the EP titled "Song For You", once again he went clean in interviews about the love he has for his fans and that the EP was his most special and personal gift for them to cherish. He later went through another Asian tour to meet his fans and took the opportunity to play against type in a more manlier role in Yoo Ha's noir-action film Gangnam 1970 as it is known in South Korea and Gangnam Blues as it is known internationally, it was his first leading role in a film and it was released in 2015.
2015 was also the year that after a series of rumors that started being widespread by the media and social media the agencies of Lee Min Ho and Bae Suzy stated that both artists were dating, to the joy and delight of fans of both artists, they would end their relationship at the end of 2017, more than two years after starting it. Lee Min Ho's professional success peaked in 2016 when he starred as the lead in the Chinese action comedy film Bounty Hunters alongside Wallace Chung, Tiffany Tang (Tang Yan), y Karena Ng.
In 2016, he returned to the small screens by playing the lead character in the fantasy romance drama Legend of the Blue Sea alongside actress Jung Ji Hyun, his career is currently on hiatus, as he performs compulsory military service in South Korea, he will resume his career in 2019. because of the injuries he sustained after his accident in 2006, he performs this military service as an administrator and not as an active soldier.
