About Uchidate Makiko
Makiko was a screenwriter with deep interest in Sumo. Among her works were Hirari in 1992, Mori Motonari in 1997, and Watashi no Aozora in 2000. She was a member of sumo's Yokozuna Deliberation Committee (YDC), the governing body of the sport of Sumo in Japan that deals with Yokozuna issues.
