Creating new TV Show pages

First of all, let me welcome you to the team at DramaWiki. We are always in need of enthusiastic and dedicated contributors to maintain the site. So, thank you for your efforts.

I have noticed that you have created a number of new show pages for upcoming KDramas (Two Cops, Mad Dog, Doubtful Victory, Trapeze). While I appreciate your zeal, unfortunately the submissions themselves are greatly lacking, missing necessary info and features to meet DramaWiki's standards. Show page creation is one of the more challenging tasks to do here, as there are great many required components to each page. I suggest you completely familiarize yourself with DramaWiki Style Guide.

As someone who creates a lot of new KDrama show pages here, I would recommend the technique that I use myself. When I create a new show page, I always start by copying the entire page for an existing show to use as a template, preferably on the same network and timeslot. I then replace the titles, dates, cast, categories, etc. as needed. It saves a great deal of work and insures that you don't leave out anything.--FritzB (talk) 13:39, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Air dates

Hi again. I've noticed that you have been adding specific air dates for a number of KDramas that will not premiere for many weeks or months. This probably serves no useful purpose. First of all, the TV networks schedules are not firmly set that far in advance, so the dates are merely guesswork. Until the network officially announces a show's premiere date, we usually leave off the day. Likewise, the projected end dates for shows are always subject to change. Holiday pre-emptions, sporting events, breaking news specials, or even labor strikes (as happening right now at KBS & MBC) frequently change the end dates. That's in addition to the shows themselves, which may be shortened or extended at the whim of the networks. For these reasons, we don't usually put specific end dates on shows much more than a couple weeks in advance. --FritzB (talk) 14:08, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Add "upcoming" tag for new drama pages

Remember to add drama page links on each cast & crew members' pages

When adding new cast or production to show pages, please don't forget to add the drama title to each corresponding person's page under their TV Shows credits. These links are not automatically created when you add them to a show page and unfortunately must be added manually. It's best to do them at the same time, so that they aren't forgotten.

Also, for any cast or crew member who currently doesn't yet have a Artist's page in DramaWiki, add the person's name in Hangul in parentheses next to their name - example: [[Cha Jung Won]] (차정원). Given all of the possible spelling variations to names, the Hangul name makes it easier to positively identify the artist and find them again once the Artist's page is created at a later date.
