| + | I would like to create an article for a 1999 MBC Sat-Sun evening drama 남의 속도 모르고. The only name that comes to mind (pun intended) is "No Mind". I welcome any help from anyone. Thanks --Imian 13:36, 6 December 2009 (UTC) | ||
| − | I | + | :"No Mind" most likely isn't the proper title or a useful translation. As far as I know, iMBC often uses poorly translated fragments of the original titles for their drama URLs. If the English title is unknown you could use the romanized form of the original title, i.e. Namui Sogdo Moleugo. Btw, there exists at least one movie and a popular song with the same title. Someone translated the song name to "You Don't Know My Feelings". But I don't know if this is a good translation. --<b><font color="green">MoerkJ</font> <small><font color="red">talk</font></small></b> 16:11, 3 January 2010 (UTC) |

Test Message
Let me know if it works, ok? --MoerkJ✎ me a msg 21:06, 28 Mar 2005 (EST)
cooeeee
Yeah looks like it works. Btw I've been wondering how to link to a category thats not in the cateogry page starting from a certain position. It works if I make it an external like e.g.
L
gives this
but totally fails if I make it in internal link
L
which gives this L I couldn't find anything in the wiki help either so maybe its not possible? Let me know if you find anything that works for internal link.
Perferred Spelling for Drama Wiki
Choi Gyu Hwan or Choi Kyu Hwan?
Thanks --Imian 14:51, 6 Aug 2008
- I'm not really sure. According to our romanizing chart both is possible. I would prefer 'Kyu' because 'Choi' doesn't end with 'g'. Generally, I prefer McR over RR romanization. It always seems to me that McR is more common outside of Korea. (Also "Choi Kyu" seems to be more common than "Choi Gyu" when doing the Google-search-test.) --MoerkJ 17:20, 6 Aug 2008 (CEST)
Usage of Hangul letters in filenames
Okay I understand(Hangul turning to symbols, periods, italics if the language feature isn't present?), I guess I never though of that. I won't do that in the future, sorry. --Christaluvsazndramas16:35, 10 Aug 2008
Profile format
Is there a perferred way to name - Empas Profile / EMPAS Profile / Profile (empas) ? Thanks Imian 17:48, 31 Aug 2008 (CEST)
- Well, it doesn't really matter, but I will stick to "Empas profile" in the future.
- Another thing, don't forget to tag new articles as stubs if they have "holes" and need further editing. See DramaWiki:Stub categories for some examples. Happy editing! --MoerkJ talk 18:25, 31 Aug 2008 (CEST)

Please help me with these image files. I cannot get them to show up on the image page or articles. Sorry about this. --Imian 08:29, 24 Sep 2008 (CEST)
- Why are you adding an apostrophe to all three filenames? You should only be using letters, numbers, dash (-) and underscore (_). Try using the filename "Lets_Get_Married_KBS-chart.jpg", which is in compliance with our recommendations on naming images. Groink 08:58, 24 Sep 2008 (CEST)
- I will stick to letters, numbers, dash (-) and underscore (_) from now on. I re-read the naming images article and my only excuse is that I was using the article name "Let's Get Married (KBS)" to name the image file.
- Is is possible to add a reminder blurb about special characters to the Upload page? This an annoying problem ruined my evening goals.
- However a problem still remains. When you click the "thumb" image in the article Let's Get Married (KBS) it takes you to a blank image page. It is probably because to begin with, I wrongly named the original image files. Please help. Thanks --Imian 19:28, 24 Sep 2008 (CEST)
- Yes, the apostrophe causes a problem here. You have to escape it with a '\' when linking the image. And if you upload a file which contains a '\' it becomes inaccessible and can't even be deleted through the wiki. Soon, I'll add a "How to upload images" page which will cover this and some other things I've planned. --MoerkJ talk 07:01, 29 Sep 2008 (CEST)
- Thanks for the info. Sorry about causing more work for everyone. --Imian 07:13, 29 Sep 2008 (CEST)

Image hotlinking
Is there anything that can be done to prevent people from hotlinking images from DramaWiki? I've noticed in a few places that quite a few people are directly linking to images here. --unsigned message by Pinkpineapple 16:31, 30 Sep 2008
- Yup, that's on our todo-list (with low priority). We might restrict hotlinking to a few selected sites (e.g. D-Addicts forum, and maybe a few others). --MoerkJ talk 18:42, 30 Sep 2008 (CEST)
Uploaded Image
Hi! I accidentally uploaded the wrong version of the Giragira banner twice, and made a mistake with uploading another image (the correlation chart). Can you delete my previous uploads? Btw, I couldn't save the images to below 100KB without compromising the quality... And sorry if my uploads made a mess out of the Recent Changes log. Thanks! --MochaValencia 06:17, 2 Oct 2008 (CEST)
- Done. I have removed the old revisions of the two images. And don't worry about the log. It doesn't have to "look good". ;) --MoerkJ talk 07:38, 2 Oct 2008 (CEST)
- Thanks! I'll be more careful next time. :D --MochaValencia 07:42, 2 Oct 2008 (CEST)
Typo Removal Request - Relationship
I've just noticed a typo in Section 4.3 & 4.4 of the Help page that I was spreading when I labeled various Correlation/Relationship charts in TV Show articles. (I cut and paste a lot). I'll correct as I come across them. Thanks and sorry. --Imian 09:05, 11 Oct 2008 (CEST)

Question about Im Yoo Jin
Family: Daughter/actress Im Yoo Jin and daughter/actress Im Yae Won
For actor article Im Dong Jin, his daughter Im Yoo Jin was in 2 movies (Flower Island (2001) and Deep Blue (1997), but I don't think she was in any TV Shows. Does she need a DramaWiki link? Maybe she can just be "Daughter/movie actress Im Yoo Jin" --Imian 07:39, 12 Dec 2008 (CET)
- Thanks for noticing. Indeed, I couldn't find any drama info either when checking on empas. I have added her just in case she had TV appearances that are just not listed on empas. After all she is a movie and musical actress and other family members are drama actors. Maybe I sensed some potential for a listing on DramaWiki.
- I've just checked the nate movie index (another great information source!) and found two different actresses named Im Yoo Jin, i.e Im Yoo Jin (1974) and Im Yoo Jin (1981). Both have one or more TV shows listed in their filmographies. I haven't investigated further due to lack of time. Maybe there is potential for wikipages. I'll also change the link to Im Yoo Jin (1974) just to prevent any possible name collisions in the future. --MoerkJ talk 18:16, 19 Dec 2008 (CET)
Account Deletion Request
Please delete my DramaWiki account. Thank you. --Lady Zhuge 04:07, 22 Dec 2008 (CET)
- I hope you will reconsider your "retirement". You made so many contributions which are surely appreciated by a lot of readers. Don't get upset so easily after having a little fight with another editor. By the way, Wiki accounts cannot be deleted, but you may leave a message on your userpage if you feel so. --MoerkJ talk 07:48, 22 Dec 2008 (CET)
- Perhaps I overreacted, but I just really didn't appreciate Groink's hypocritical message of uniformity and essentially running a dictatorship as he sees fit. He's only familiar with the Japanese TV industry and yet tries to apply his philosophies to everything else. Anyway, thanks for clearing things up. It seems like you're the go-to person for rhyme and reason. I was not aware that TV movies can actually have their own articles created here on DramaWiki. I was also not aware that Wiki accounts cannot be deleted. Just out of curiosity, is it all user accounts or just those that have made at least one contribution? --Lady Zhuge 09:08, 22 Dec 2008 (CET)
- Well, that's our groink. He surely has some temper. The best is to keep the discussion strictly technical and not to take his sometimes harsh words to heart. Apart from that he's doing a fantastic job.
- To be honest, I'm not aware of any TV movie article on DramaWiki so far. And also I'm not sure how many TV movies are produced in Asia and if this format has any relevance for DramaWiki.
- And regarding the user deletion... There exists no formular or special page for admins to delete a user. Officially, the MediaWiki software manuals say that users cannot (and should not) be deleted. I can delete a user entry directly in the database, but I don't know for sure whether there could arise data conflicts when deleting users with contributions or not. --MoerkJ talk 13:09, 22 Dec 2008 (CET)
Drama name - Can anyone help with this?
I would like to add a show profile for the 1994 MBC drama 마지막 승부 but I an uncertain what to call it. It already has several names (within artist profiles) in dramawiki - "The Last Game", "The Last Match", "The Final Game", "The Final Match", "Last Victory and Defeat". It is also called "The Last Dunk" and "Final Competition" at other web sites. Thanks. --Imian 22:25, 18 Feb 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to interrupt, but hopefully this site might help you a bit?. The site url uses "last game", which I'm supposing is "The Last Game". I remember having some problems with names before as well and was told to use one that comes up most/popular on Google search engine. It also translates to "last game" in English as well from the Korean title. But I may be wrong, so hopefully someone else will reply also. --ladys07 04:12, 19 Feb 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for interrupting ... "The Last Game" was my pick too but I wanted to check with y'all. --Imian 05:24, 19 Feb 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, The Last Game seems to be a good choice. --MoerkJ talk 07:20, 19 Feb 2009 (UTC)

Banjun Drama Edits :)
Thanks for those - that helps me know how to do all this better :) i do have one question though - is the way I have formatted the titles acceptable? i.e. 'ENGLISH' (hangeul romanisation)
(I am getting translations for the ones i don't have - just waiting for confirmation) --unsigned message by Saharial 21:08, 30 Mar 2009 (CEST)
- The format you have chosen is fine. It doesn't matter if some information (i.e. translations) is still missing. Other editors may fill the gaps later. Every contribution is very welcome. Another thing... please always sign your messages on talk pages. It's easier to read when you can see who said what. ^^ --MoerkJ talk 23:38, 30 Mar 2009 (UTC)
Banjun summaries
I have summaries for the JunJin episodes and, as time goes on i will add in those for all the ones i actually have, but i wanted to get formatting sorted before i begin seeing asthere are a lot of them!
- Should i organise the summaries into alphabetical order by main actor/actress as they did do 'seasons' of banjuns. Obviously the order would go JunJin - TVXQ and then later i can add in Andy, Bi, Eric before junjin etc etc? I ask because I don't want to be accused of bias as I am taking the junjin summaries from my own website (i give myself permission haha)
Does this make sense? --Saharial 07:23, 4 Apr 2009 (UTC)
- One thing you might want to monitor is the size of Banjun Drama. MediaWiki doesn't actually have a limit, but we do try to keep the articles to a certain size (in KB) so that it makes for easier editing. As of this writing, Banjun Drama is 10KB. Wikipedia uses the 60KB rule, at which then the article may need to be chopped into multiple articles. As an example, Drama Complex and Kayo Drama Gold, we create a separate article for each episode in this series. Looking at the potential growth of the article, at 87 episodes, this will be the largest article in all of DramaWiki, and therefore you may want to do the same thing as we're doing with the other series. Groink 09:13, 4 Apr 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah it would be nice to have some kind of grouping (maybe similar to the way they did it in the Soompi Banjun thread). If the article gets too big, then we should break it into several smaller pages. We can link from the episode listing to the (sub)pages. --MoerkJ talk 09:23, 4 Apr 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tips on page size and yes, thats a really good point about how big it will get!!Based on your suggestions i would think that where the summaries are now there could be a list of grouped summaries each with their own page and the episode lists could have links to the pages those episodes are on so that anyone interested in the other stars can get to them easily too. Either that or there is one page/episode which could include the OST and any other trivia and the page is linked via the episode guide. I'm glad i asked now! ^^ --Saharial 11:04, 4 Apr 2009 (UTC)
Rating Table Class
Ok, thanks for letting me know (*^_^*). This definitely makes things a lot easier.
252 Seizonsha ari: Episode ZERO - image upload
Hi :) I've created a new page for the drama SP '252 Seizonsha ari: Episode ZERO' http://wiki.d-addicts.com/252_Seizonsha_ari:_Episode_ZERO
And since I can't upload pictures, here's the DVD cover: http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww275/akai_datenshi/Takako/Seizonsha.jpg
External link for DramaFever
Dfever had posted links to Kdrama video [1]. I want to run it by you that it's okay for him to do so. He stated all the video are legally licensed from the network. --WaterOB 15:44, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Our guidelines don't allow such links. I'll discuss this further on Dfever's talkpage. --MoerkJ talk 19:21, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
problem with the new system
I have been experiencing two major problems with the new system.
1. When I don't log in, the drama/ost/currently airing lists are outdated. New articles I added don't appear.
2. When I uploaded an image, File:Ko3s2.jpg, the system couldn't create a thumbnail image. It gives the following warning messages:
- Error creating thumbnail: Unable to run external programs in safe mode.
- Warning: escapeshellarg() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/wiki/domains/wiki.d-addicts.com/public_html/wiki/includes/GlobalFunctions.php on line 1321
Please help. --WaterOB 06:26, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about the first issue, but I'm definitely experiencing problem #2 as well. I only receive this error with certain pages, such as Ryu Sang Wook and The Man Who Can't Get Married. --Hanjae 08:50, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm getting the thumbnail error with all the recently uploaded images (as of yesterday). But it's a first for The Man Who Can't Get Married. --Cerise 11:33, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed. It seems, for some reason certain php functions have been disabled in php.ini a few days ago. I have re-enabled some of the filesystem-related functions which DramaWiki needs for image handling (i.e. uploading and thumbnailing) and other things. So, this issue should be fixed now. If you still see some of these grey error boxes then try to force-reload the page or purge the article first. (If purging doesn't work then you might have to null edit the article.) --MoerkJ talk 15:26, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
MBC Drama Name
I would like to create an article for a 1999 MBC Sat-Sun evening drama 남의 속도 모르고. The only name that comes to mind (pun intended) is "No Mind". I welcome any help from anyone. Thanks --Imian 13:36, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- "No Mind" most likely isn't the proper title or a useful translation. --MoerkJ talk 16:11, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
