Alternate titles / Page moves
Hi Aixtor,
Thank you for your contributions to DramaWiki.
I've noticed that although you've been here a relatively short time, you have moved the pages (changed the titles) for a number of popular dramas.
Nearly all Korean dramas will typically have a number alternate titles used on various English-language sites. When you encounter an alternate title for a drama that is not already listed, please add it to the show's page with the header, Also known as: And, if the title is significantly different than the main page title, add a redirect page for that title, directing the user to the existing show page. The most important thing is for users to easily find the show they are looking for.
A page move (title change) is really a drastic action, as it affects pages all over the database. This function really should only be used when absolutely necessary and not for minor title variations. Thanks! --FritzB (talk) 13:49, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with FritzB on this. Your move on bride of water god is really unnecessary. Doesn't mean every drama here must follow literal translation. Please undo your edit. If really needed please create a new page for alternative title and put as redirect instead of moving a page. Also, please discuss on talk page before moving any further page. - I already moved it back to Bride of the Water God, leaving the Bride of Habaek 2017 as a redirect. It's a valid alternate title, though most of the English-language sites are calling it Bride of the Water God. Sino-Korean mythological names like Habaek don't mean much to most English speakers. --FritzB (talk) 13:03, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
