Information allowed on DramaWiki[edit]

Remember: NO movies, anime or discographies allowed on DramaWiki. Groink 14:58, 26 Jul 2006 (EDT)

- I know, the thing is that I was trying to upload and image, but I dont know how to do it, can you tell me the way??

Use the Upload file function found in the toolbox on the leftside of your browser. For information on how to place images in an article, check Help. --A10203040 00:00, 27 Jul 2006 (EDT)

- Thanks a lot DDD 16:08, 27 Jul 2006 (EDT)

Now that you know how to upload images, PHOTO GALLERIES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON DRAMAWIKI. Please don't do this again. Groink 14:22, 4 Aug 2006 (EDT)

OK, thanks for the warning. 10:05, 5 Aug (EDT)

One more thing to point out... DramaWiki is a source for TV drama information, and artist information STRICTLY related to TV dramas. DramaWiki should be totally clean of fan-like information (favorite ____, best friends, etc.) So please do not abuse the trivia sections with fan-like information. Please read this section on how DramaWiki views fangirls and fanboys, and this article that explains how the trivia section should be used. Groink 15:01, 5 Aug 2006 (EDT)

- Got it, but I did that because I saw this best friend thing in other profiles, anyway no problem 20:14 5 Aug 2006 (EDT)

Working with images[edit]

Please read this section on uploading and using pictures. The filenames you're using for your images are impossible to manage fron an administrative point-of-view. Groink 19:36, 17 Aug 2006 (EDT)

Changing section name to TV Drama[edit]

Lokaanime... Lokaanime... You're such a rebel, aren't you? Either you don't like reading the style guides here on DramaWiki, or you just don't give a flying sh*t about them. And you keep getting lectured over and over again over issues that are clearly covered in these style guides, simply because you just don't follow them. Well, we do care about the style of DramaWiki. And you changing the section names from "TV Shows" to "TV Dramas" is something you should not be doing. Please read this article. It is clearly documented that we use "TV Shows" instead of "TV Dramas" or "Dramas". The administrator, MoerkJ, started using "TV Shows" awhile back, so you too should start using it as well. He also uses "TV Series", so that's also acceptable. 'nuf said. Groink 14:26, 18 Aug 2006 (EDT)

- Reading it all, sorry for the troubles, but there are a lot of things (19:44, 18 Aug 2006 (EDT)

one image per artist[edit]

Hi, the Korean guidelines are not out yet, but these are the image guidelines from the Japanese Artist guideline which is the same throughout. Just 1 good image is enough. Good job in creating the article. --A10203040 17:27, 18 Aug 2006 (EDT)

Use of images[edit]

  • Keep the profile image of the artist to 250 pixels or less.
  • Only one image per artist article maximum. Full-frontal headshot view is preferred, with the entire face being visible. Image should be sharp rather than blurry. Do not post images that are jagged or bitty (ex: a 100px image blown up to 250px, or a magazine image poorly re-touched). Best choice of image is one where the artist is being him/herself, and not dressed up as a particular character (ex: wearing a jidaigeki-period whig, or wearing kabuki-like make-up).
  • Do not upload images that contain copyright or trademark symbols, or other text. Use a photo editing tool to remove the information.
  • If a copyright/trademark owner demands removal of an image, please obey the request and remove the image from the article.

- Thanks for the information, got it. 11:30, 19 Aug (EDT)

Once again, please read the Style Guide. If you've read it 1024 times, read it again for the 1025th time because it just isn't clicking in your head. Quoting from the style guide:

Filenames on all images must be properly named. A good rule-of-thumb is to use the article name as the filename, along with some form of indication as to the type of image. Good names in filenames help identify the content of the image without having to open the image.

  • Good filenames:
    • The_Greatest_Drama-banner.jpg
    • Sakai_Noriko-headshot.jpg
  • Bad filenames: (i.e. what you're doing right now)
    • file01.jpg
    • picture.jpg
    • CM384789.jpg

Groink 17:32, 7 Sep 2006 (EDT)

Reading again, about the filename, totally forgot it, sorry 22:40 7, Sep (EDT)

A reminder on images... You recently uploaded Image:Yamapi 2007.jpg. This image does not conform to DramaWiki standards. Please crop the image so that ONLY the face is showing. The current image shows too much of his body. Groink 14:13, 27 Dec 2007 (CST)

Keep resolution on images SMALL[edit]

Why are you editing the articles, expanding the size of the images? FYI, not everyone have large displays. Some people still run 800x600 resolution. Generally, we would like to design the articles so that it fits the 800x600 resolution and still look good. When you start enlarging images beyond 200px, the images start to take up too much space. The text should be the emphasis, NOT the images. If the reader wants a larger image, he can simply click on the image. Please keep artist images to 200px or less; this has been discussed in the Pictures section of the style guide. Groink 16:52, 15 Nov 2006 (CST)

- Ok, I'll change my edited images to 200px. lokaanime 14:16, 16 Nov 2006

Another Question...[edit]

How can I edit someone new, that has the same name as another actor already edited in the database?? just..... 0:08, 12 Sep 2006 (EDT)

Take a look at some of these pages Maki Yoko, Maggie Cheung, Sun Li (July 18), Jung Da Bin (2000) and decide which is the best way to do it. --A10203040 06:12, 13 Sep 2006 (EDT)

Ok, I'll try to edit correctly and if I make any mistake please clean up, thnxx

Korean personal names[edit]

Hi, I need your help. I'm thinking of putting in writing at least a preferred romanization method for dealing with Korean personal names in dramawiki, such as using uh over eo or oo over u. This is what I've compiled so far, I hope that you can have a look at it and see if the list is workable and how it can be improved.

The use of the preferred method is only for the ease of linking dramas to their respective artist pages, in the end, all popular spellings of the artist will be put in the Also known as: section in the artist info page. --A10203040 12:55, 15 Nov 2006 (CST)

- Amazing job you have done, and yeah I think we should clear the wrinting of korean names, the only thing is that the romanization with "eo , ee" ... are used a lot, almost in every articles and asiatics forums that I have search instead of u or uh(어)(uhn(언), uhm(엄), suh(서). Despite that, for the occidental people what you think to do is a perfect way so just clear up things and I'll do my best, tell me what will be the final resolution and we'l do it.... and really amazing job XDDD lokaanime 20:12, 15 Nov 2006 (MAD)

Thanks, my thoughts about eo is u seems used more often in examples such as 영, 정, 성, 선, especially over here, and quite a few 서 are romanized Suhs here, so was thinking standardising everything to u and uh. Btw, I'll copy the contents of this discussion to user talk:a10203040/Korean personal names, so that we can hear what any others might want to say about this. Hope we can talk over there instead. --A10203040 13:32, 15 Nov 2006 (CST)

- No Problem and keep doing it lokaanime 20:39, 15 Nov 2006 (MAD)

I've reformatted the Korean Personal Names Romanization Preferences list to how it will look like in it's final form, along with Romanization of Hangul guidelines. Please have a look and comment on what you think of it and if any changes should made to them. Thanks --A10203040 07:02, 17 Nov 2006 (CST)

I've read it all and I think it's exactly as it is in the asiatic forums so I'll keep it as reference, and of course don't make any change it's perfect really XDDD 15:55 18 Nov 2006 (MAD) Lokaanime

Ok, except for one minor correction in the ㅓ example. that version should be it now. Hopefully I'll be able to move the two into the Korean guidelines soon. --A10203040 14:18, 18 Nov 2006 (CST)

Draft Korean guidelines[edit]

Hi, please have a look and see if the draft Korean guidelines are ok with you. --A10203040 11:32, 20 Nov 2006 (CST)

- I've read it all, and for now everything's ok. lokaanime 19:33, 22 Nov 2006 (MAD)

  • I made final changes to the [Korean Personal Names Romanization Preferences] to leave an exception for sh(시) in ㅅ and to make the usage of h in ㅏ, ㅓ, ㅗ, ㅜ clearer. If you're ok with the changes, I'll be moving the guidelines into DramaWiki. Thanks --A10203040 01:12, 26 Nov 2006 (CST)

- Ok, I'll be doing the edition this way, if you make any change please let me know, you're really welcome. Lokaanime 19:07, 29 Nov 2006 (MAD)

I've just posted the guidelines, they're now in the below locations, you can access them through the Help page and Style guide or click on on of the links below. Thanks for your help. --A10203040 13:39, 29 Nov 2006 (CST)

Adding Cast Members[edit]

Please make sure you are Romanizing Japanese names properly. In general, long vowels are romanized as short vowels unless the actor/actress/etc. officially uses a different Romanization (i.e., check their profile). If you add an actor/actress/etc. that does not already have an article, please place the Japanese name in parentheses next to the Wikilink. This allows other editors to verify your Romanization and avoids ambiguity for people who have the same Romanized name. Please fix your edits to Hachi-One Diver. Thanks. -- Quashlo 08:50, 13 May 2008 (CDT)

Someone Like You / Ting Jian Xing Fu[edit]

Hi Lokaanime, I saw that you requested deletion for Ting Jian Xing Fu after you established a new page with the exact info under English title Someone Like You. Please don't do that. It's much easier (for me and other editors) if you simply MOVE the article to a new English title page. Look at the top right corner of your page. See the drop down arrow key between the star and the search box? Click it. Select MOVE. Input new title and give reason. Click MOVE PAGE. And you are done. Let me know if you have any questions. For our case, I will delete the old page as you requested. --WaterOB (talk) 00:55, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

-Thanks for the info and the help, I didn't know about that option, I'll do that next time to achieve a better searching experience. Lokaanime 17:48, 06 March 2015 (UTC+01:00)

Drama Title[edit]

Hi, i noticed you created the page for 11 Princes Agents...from the poster the spelling should be "Princess" agents and direct translation also "princess"....was it mistakenly wrong spelling? If yes, the page should be moved to 11 Princess Agents or 11 Chu Tegong Huang Fei, whichever used by official broadcast channel. --Natokajun (talk) 11:38, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
