At Kenjiro’s house, Machiko talks about her childhood to him. In 1938, when she was ten years old, she was fond of a boy in her class. One day, she saw her aunt meeting secretly with one of the photographers working at her family’s photo studio. The relationship between the two eventually ended as the photographer went back to his home to take over his family’s photo shop business. Machiko got a glimpse of a complicated romance between adults.
