Junko decides to continue working as Machiko’s secretary and housekeeping assistant. In a magazine interview, Machiko refers to some shops and restaurants in her neighborhood she often goes. The restaurants and shops introduced in the article as favorite places of the popular writer become crowded. One day, a paper lantern of Takoyoshi, one of such restaurants, is torn by a first time customer. Kenjiro’s father Kihachiro compensates for it with money out of Kenjiro’s medical office without asking anybody. In addition, he gives a homeless laborer a stay for a night and asks Kenjiro to examination the worker for free. A few days later, a flock of laborers who heard about this come to the hospital. Machiko promises Takashi, one of her step children, to take him to popular actor’s show. Takashi is excited but he has already got another appointment for the day—his friend’s birthday party.
